The BC Beauty Training (BCBT) team are celebrating after being named Beauty Training Academy of the Year at the English Hair and Beauty Awards on Sunday evening.
The company beat nine other finalists, receiving the award in front of over 1000 people at a black-tie event at the Athena, Leicester.
The company was nominated for the prize by its students and, following being shortlisted, the BCBT team had to prepare a statement to judges explaining why they should be chosen.
Maria Lloyd, Managing Director of BC Beauty Training, said: “We felt very privileged just to be attending such an amazing event, but to be picked out as the best in the country is fantastic!”
BCBT offers a range of accredited one-to-one courses in a number of areas of beauty, catering to those that are new to beauty or those with prior experience.
Alongside teaching conventional topics including hair, make-up and nails, they also provide advice on subjects such as health and safety, client consultations, and how to successfully start and maintain a beauty business.
“Our reputation depends on the success of each student,” Maria explained, “and we pride ourselves in staying in touch with them after their course, and to assist where appropriate with their future success.
“To say that I am so proud of my trainers and each and every one of our students is an understatement.”
Maria started the company just six years ago in Brighton, with herself as the sole trainer.
Now, BCBT has 10 trainers working in centres across the South East and the Midlands, with further expansion being planned in 2018.
