FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I receive a certificate?

Yes you will receive an accredited diploma certificate on the same day as your course. To pass a course, course standards must be met and theory work completed prior to the practical training day.

Which qualification do I receive?

You will receive an accredited diploma qualification. We are accredited by Guild of Beauty Therapists and ABT Associated Beauty Therapists.

This allows you to gain insurance to work on members of the public.

Is there parking?

Yes, we are situated in a residential area with plenty of free parking surrounding. We kindly ask you to be mindful of neighbours.

How soon can I complete the course

We are very accommodating with dates and try to fit in with you where we can.

When you call or email we can look at the dates you require, if we have it free we can book you in with your deposit and if we do not then we will give you the next available date. We work Tuesday - Saturday during the day and some weekday evenings too from 6pm.

How long do the courses take?

Most of our courses are half day courses and generally run between 10am and 3pm.

It does depend though on which course you choose and also how quickly you pick it up as to the finish times.

You are required to carry out home-study prior to the course commencing.

Do I need to provide a model for the days training?

Yes you will need to provide a model to carry out the treatments on.

As we teach on a one to one basis we can not provide models for each course, although from time to time we may be able to help with models if we are given notice.

The only courses that DO NOT require a model are:  Acrylic Extensions, Gel Nail Extensions, Polygel Extensions, E-File, lash mapping, social media marketing.

Do I need to pay a booking fee?

Yes, all courses require booking fee paid prior to attending the course.

The manual is emailed out and the course is booked onto our system once the booking fee has been paid.

It would either be a £50 booking fee for a singular course (per course) or £100 for the intensive courses.

All booking fees are non-refundable. Booking fees can be transferred and courses booked for another date if two weeks notice is given prior. If less than 2 weeks notice is given, you will unfortunately forfeit your booking fee and need to pay another to rescehdule.

The booking fee will then be deducted from your final balance which is due on the day of your course.

Do I need previous experience?

With most of our courses, you do not need previous experience.

We do have a few courses that will need a requisite prior to attending (this is stated on the course information if required).

We teach complete beginners in the industry through to experienced therapists looking to add to their existing portfolios.

Do I receive a course manual?

Yes you do receive a training manual with everything thing that you need to know about the specific treatment you are carrying out.

The manual is emailed to you when you pay your booking fee. At the back of the manual is some home study that needs to be completed prior to your practical training day. This can be emailed back to us, or print and bring with you on the day.

Is there a test?

Yes there is a test, it is in your manual that is sent to you when you pay your deposit. This allows you to complete the test in the comfort of your own home....

The answers must be emailed back prior to your course commencing, this ensures that you can receive your certificate on the day of your course.

An additional fee of £5 must be paid if the theory work has not been completed by the day of the practical and your certificate to be sent out.

Do you supply a kit?

We supply all of the products and equipment for the days training, so there is no need to purchase a kit prior to your course.

I can advice students on kits and suppliers to purchase once you are qualified.

How do I pay?

You can pay your deposit and remaining balance:

By card over the phone or in person

By bank transfer

By cash

The balance of the course is paid for on the day of the course.

Unfortunately we DO NOT accept American Express.

Who accredits your courses?

How do the conduct your courses?

Our courses are taught on a one to one basis.

You will have a manual emailed to you when you book the course and pay your deposit.

This manual is used for your home study, there are questions in the back that will need to be answered prior to your course commencing. (they needed to be emailed back).

On the day of the course you will go over the manual again so we can ensure that you have understood all of its contents and you will be able to ask as many questions as you would like.

The you will carry out the practical side of the course on your model (if needed).

The trainer demonstrates every stage and will ensure that you are confident before leaving.

You will receive your certificate on the day of the course if you have met course standards and completed your theory work.

What Are Your Opening Hours?

Tuesday - Friday 9am to 5pm (some evening dates are available for courses from 6pm)

Saturday 9am - 3pm

Sunday & Monday closed

Do I need to Patch Test my model?

It is the Student’s responsibility to ensure that their model has had a patch test 24 - 48 hours prior to attending the course, should they need one.

Your model is more than welcome to come to us, for us to carry out a patch test. If you need any advice on how to carry out the patch test you can give us a call and we will talk you through how it should be done.

It is Not the responsibility of BC Beauty Training. If your model has not been patch tested (if required) then the course will not be able to proceed and the booking fee will be forfeited.

We are able to advise which products are being used, should you wish to purchase the products to carry out the patch test yourself.

Patch Testing - Eyelash and Russian Lash Extensions – There will be a form attached to your confirmation email for our model to sign to say they agree to have the treatment carried out without a patch test, as we use Lash Base Products, Lash Base have carried out extensive research and now advise a patch test is not necessary.
