Student Success - LWM Beaute

We are firm believers that success can be at the end of your finger tips (literally) if you are passionate and work hard for what you want.

We would like to introduce you to Leah, who has been a student at BC Beauty Training for just over a year and has managed to build a successful new beauty business for herself.

HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT BCBT?

My sister recommended BC Beauty Training to me as she had done a lot of beauty courses here. I booked my first course which was an eyelash extension course with Laura in October 2019. I had no previous experience in the beauty industry when I trained in eyelash extensions.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT TRAINING WITH US AT BCBT?

The professionalism and friendliness of staff making me feel at ease during training.  I was a bit nervous at before my first beauty course, but had no reason to be!  The training manuals that are sent out are so clear and easy to understand. 

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS?

I am self-employed and work my beauty business from my home.I am also occasionally mobile and travel out to clients. My favourite treatment is eyelash extensions, it makes my day when my client first opens their eyes after a full set and their face lights up. 

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR BUSINESS A YEAR FROM NOW?

A year from now I see myself in a salon with a good client base.  My 5 year vision plan is to have my own salon and run a successful business full time. 

I would like to add pedicures to my list of treatments and still look to add more as time goes on and one day teach people how to do beauty treatments. 

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OTHERS CONSIDERING BEAUTY TRAINING AND STARTING A BUSINESS?

My tips for anyone starting in the industry would be to believe in yourself, you are capable to do anything you put your mind to. Promote as much as you can and ask for reviews. Always be reliable and consistent and your hard work will pay off. 

I created Facebook and Instagram pages and done an introductory offer for the first two months after qualifying. I printed leaflets and business cards with loyalty rewards on the back. I done competitions for giveaways and also given multiple vouchers to school fetes and charity events.
